Sci-Fi elements of Inception

3 sci-fi elements in inception are evidence of advanced technology, alternate location setting and science is important in story.
Evidence of advanced technology is the advancement of brain activity and knowing how to use it. It is shown by the ability to change things in a dream world. This is achieved because your brain is more active when you sleep. It is so realistic it seems real. This is shown in the entire movie and is explained when Dom and the Ariadne are first testing her mind. This has enhanced the movie due to the fact that it is a key part to the movie.
Evidence of alternate location setting is when they fall asleep they go into the dream world. They can change and alter things as they want. Another location place is limbo. it is when they die and lose themselves in a dream that doesn't stop. They can be there for years. This has enhanced the movie.  Dom and Mal get stuck in limbo for 50 years.
Evidence that science is important in the movie is when they use a sleeping sedative to stay asleep for 24 hours. It is used to enter several layers of the dream. This enhances the movie because it allows the characters to find many things. They only way they can wake up when using this sedative is a ``kick``. In other words the person cant wake up unless their equilibrium  is disturbed, such as falling over.

Harrison Bergeron/2081

The book is more effective in satirizing the concept of total equality.  The movie had a bomb which made it seem that Harrison was prepared to die and his actions seemed like they were made as a threat. Also in the movie he made a huge speech. In the book there was no bomb and he started his short speech with "I am the emperor" It shows he wants to take over, and fix things. In the book he also kisses the ballerina, it shows his soft side and that being equal isn't everything, it wasn't in the movie. The handicapper general also kills them while they are kissing, which shows her weakness.

The Veldt Part 5

The e-book was started in the 1970's. I think it is absolutly horrible. It allows you to download books and read them on the elctronic devise. If this continues there will be no use for paper and books. There will be no use to library's. Some of the best books you cant transfer to a electronic device. Its because of what they are written on and when that makes them magical. Who would want to read a book by Da Vinci on an electronic device? It ruins the atmoshere a book can create.

The Veldt part 4

The email was made in the 1970's. It is a great asset to technology because it allows you to send messages, pictures and videos to another computer. Now you can even send an email and get it on your phone. It is a great way to stay connected to all areas of the world. It is very important.

The Veldt Part 3

Wikipedia was launched in January 2001. It is great because it has many articles on every subject. It is search and research engine. It is also a non-profit website. It has around 2.7 million page views per year. It allows people to learn anything at the touch of a button. It is the 6 most used website in the world.

The Veldt Part 2

Facebook was invented in 2004. As of July 2011 there are 800 millions users.  It is a good advancement because it helps people stay connected even when they are across the world. It is cheaper and more efficient then a phone call. It is also a way to share events and pictures. Overall its a way to stay connected. It is a social networking site.

The Veldt Part 1

Texting was made in 1992
Today about 74% of cellphone users use texting. It is a means of communication.  It took a while to become prevalent but is now used worldwide. It is beneficial because it is quick and simple and the other person is able to answer when the are not busy. It is convenient and easy to use. For example if someone is going to be a bit late they can zip off a text and they don't have to wait till the other person picks up the phone.
